The Old Forge Emporium is located in the pretty village of Appledore which sits almost on the border between Kent and East Sussex. Other attractions in the village include the norman church of St. Peter's & St. Paul's, The Black Lion public house, Miss Molletts High Class Tea Room, Appledore Village Store and Post Office, two campsites and the Royal Military Canal. The natives are friendly and if you like interesting shopping, good walks, gentle strolls and great food you will love Appledore. Tenterden and Rye are each approximately 7 miles away in the unlikely event that you want to leave.
The Emporium is housed in the blacksmith's forge, which is around 300 years old and still boasts the original forge, some of the metalwork made in it and tools used. The building has been developed into a retail space covering over 2,000 square feet from where around 16 people trade in a wide range of goods. Here you will find antique, vintage, retro and upcycled furniture, jewellery old and new, kitchenalia, books, silver, china, glass, vintage tools, lighting, and much more. We are pleased to support British crafters by showcasing their original work.
